Relaxation techniques from Better Furniture

We all lead such hectic lives in these modern times. Relaxation is a vital tool we can all use to help improve our health and well being.

Relaxation is a simple way to relax your body and calm your mind.  It helps to manage the stresses and anxieties of our daily lives.  This then helps improve our sleep and productivity.

Relaxation techniques

There are many ways to gain this inner relaxation. For example, visualisation, breathing, and muscle relaxation to name a few.

Muscular relaxation in an excellent way to begin the relaxation process.  I believe that this can be accessed easily by most people.

It is important to begin by sitting comfortably.

This is where we at Better Furniture can help.

Here at Better Furniture we have many sofas and chairs to aid in this process.

Avoid lying down.  It is best to sit with your back nice and straight.

Begin by sitting comfortably and quietly.  Enjoy the moment as deeply and as thoroughly as possible.

Relax the muscles of the body by breathing deeply and calmly. Letting go of the day’s tensions. By relaxing our muscles we conserve energy. Energy that can be held as tension in parts of the body. I hold tension in my shoulders, for others it may be in the back or neck.

With your eyes closed, imagine your body filling with a bright light.

Starting from the tip of your head and focusing on this, let the light travel through your body. Through to your arms, your legs, finger tips and your toes. Take this bright shining light with your calm breathing to to your torso, your neck, your stomach and your back.

Breathing out you can let go and release any tensions in your body and mind.

Let this light radiate calm and peace and relaxation.
